FUMO SPONSORS SMALL BUSINESS MARKETING AND INTERNET WORKSHOP

Philadelphia, April 23, 2002 – State Senator Vincent J. Fumo, along with The Ellison Group and the Temple Small Business Development Center, will be hosts for The Ultimate Marketing & Internet Workshop for entrepreneurs in Philadelphia. The event will be held at the Philadelphia Commercial Development Corporation (PCDC,) 1315 Walnut Street, 5th floor on Thursday, April 25, 2002 from 6 to 9 p.m. It will be free to the public.

The Workshop will feature two experts who will share insiders’ secrets of what works and what doesn’t work in promoting one’s business. Jon Goldman of Goldman Promotions, author of The Million Dollar Lumpy MailTM Marketing System, is recognized internationally as one of the leading experts in direct response marketing. He will show attendees how to get three to five times return on every dollar they spend on marketing.

Frank Garon has gone from truck driver to web guru. Through www.InternetCashPlanet.com, he offers web-based, money-making tools to small businesses and individuals. He will cover how business owners can get explosive traffic to their websites and really make money through the Internet.

"As State Senator, I am committed to the economic prosperity of small businesses in Philadelphia. And I’ve asked The Ellison Group, in partnership with the Temple SBDC, to put this event together on my behalf," said Fumo.

The Ellison Group is a Philadelphia-based, leadership and entrepreneurial coaching firm, which specializes in doubling profits and productivity for small to mid-size corporations. At all levels of an organization, The Ellison Group emphasizes shattering traditional thinking and adopting an entrepreneurial mindset. "Most problems that small businesses face are marketing related," said Keith Ellison, principal of The Ellison Group. "So this workshop will help attendees tackle those problems at the core."

The Temple University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides consulting and training to small businesses in Philadelphia. The SBDC will assist The Ellison Group with promoting the event and registration.

Other organizations providing in-kind services include PCDC, South Street Business District, Old City District, ePhiladelphia Technology Alliance, and the Reading Terminal Market Corporation.
